Our Commitment
[REQUIRED BROKERAGE INPUT — Legal Brokerage Name] is committed to ensuring that https://equitybrokers.com is accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities. We strive to meet or exceed the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR), as well as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
We believe that everyone deserves equal access to information and services. Accessibility is an ongoing effort and we continuously work to improve the user experience for all visitors.
AODA Compliance
As an Ontario-based business, we are subject to the requirements of the AODA and its associated standards, including:
- Customer Service Standard — treating people with disabilities with dignity and respect
- Information and Communications Standard — providing accessible formats and communication supports upon request
- Employment Standard — accessible employment practices
- Transportation Standard — (not applicable)
- Design of Public Spaces Standard — (not applicable for digital services)
Our Multi-Year Accessibility Plan outlines our strategy for achieving and maintaining accessibility. A copy is available upon request.
WCAG 2.1 AA Standards
We work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, which includes the following principles:
- Perceivable — information and UI components are presentable to users in ways they can perceive
- Operable — UI components and navigation are operable by all users
- Understandable — information and UI operation is understandable
- Robust — content is robust enough for interpretation by a wide variety of assistive technologies
Specific measures we take include: sufficient colour contrast ratios, keyboard navigation support, descriptive alt text for images, semantic HTML structure, ARIA landmarks, and focus indicators for interactive elements.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, some content may not fully meet all success criteria at this time. We are actively working to address these gaps. Known areas under review include:
- Third-party embedded content (e.g., maps, calculators) — we are evaluating accessible alternatives
- PDF documents — accessible versions available upon request
- Complex interactive charts — text equivalents are provided
Accessible Formats and Communication Supports
Upon request, we will provide information in accessible formats or with communication supports. This may include:
- Documents in alternative formats (large print, plain language, digital text)
- Verbal explanations or telephone support
- Extended time for completing forms or applications
Please contact us in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements.
